The winner of this 5 day, all expenses paid trip, will accompany Shark Research Mexico to tag a shark out in the field.

Baja California is a breath-taking paradise where vibrant marine life thrives in the crystal-clear waters of the Sea of Cortez known as the “Aquarium of the world”. This region is a haven for diverse marine species, including sharks, lively sea lions, and spectacular islands surrounded by towering cactus. Visitors can dive into these stunning underwater ecosystems, encountering everything from schooling rays, hammerheads, mako sharks and even the charismatic whale sharks.

In partnership with Shark Research Mexico, you will have the unique opportunity to assist their scientific team with tagging a shark, gaining first-hand experience in crucial conservation efforts. Staying with their dedicated researchers and students, you will not get to experience the life as a shark researcher but also contribute to important studies that help protect these incredible species.

1. These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) are the terms and conditions that apply to the Co-Exist Projects and Shark Research Mexico Tag a Shark Competition (the “Competition”) as promoted by Co-Exist Projects (company Save Our Seas Ltd.) whose registered office is at Akara Building, 24 De Castro Street, Wickhams Cay I Road Town, Tortola, BVI, Virgin Islands (British) (the “Promoter”).
2. Participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of the Terms. By entering the Competition all entrants will be deemed to be bound by the Terms.
3. In the event of any dispute regarding the conduct of the Competition and all matters relating to the Competition, the decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
4. The opening date of the Competition is 1.11.24 (the “Opening Date”) and the Closing Date for receipt of entries is 30.12.24 (the “Closing Date”). Entrants of the competition must be available between the dates of 17th-21st March 2025. .
5. The Competition is open to residents of The Americas only aged 18 years or over, excluding employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, their affiliated brands and companies or any other persons professionally connected with the Competition. By entering this competition, participants confirm they are physically fit and have no physical disabilities or health conditions that would prevent them from safely participating in all aspects of the competition. The organizers reserve the right to require forfeiture of the prize if, after entry, a participant is found to have an undisclosed condition that could jeopardize their safety during the trip. The competition is open to all individuals over the age of 18 who are physically fit to travel and able to speak English.
6. No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by computer will be accepted.
7. To enter: Purchase a ticket from the Coexist Projects website only, between the Opening Date and the Closing Date.
8. When entering the Competition entrants may opt in to receiving marketing material from the Promoter. If the entrant opts in to receiving such material, the entrant consents to their registration details being added to the Promoter’s mailing list and they may receive newsletters from the Promoter via email. Entrants can leave the mailing list at any time by following the simple ‘unsubscribe’ instructions included on the newsletter.
9. Those entrants that purchase a ticket between the Opening Date and the Closing Date, in accordance with the Terms, will be automatically entered into the Competition. Entrants will be required to provide their full name, date of birth and email address.
10. The Winner will be selected using Google’s random number generator during a live draw on social media. The corresponding ticket number will be deamed the winner. In the event that there is no corresponding ticker number, another role will be made until there is a matching number.
11. The prize consists of an expenses paid trip to LaPaz Mexico and includes return flight, transfers, food and accommodation. The Prize is non-transferable, unless agreed in writing by the Promoter and no cash alternative is available. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own travel and health insurance for the duration of the trip.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to reschedule the dates of the Prize for reasons beyond their reasonable control.
13. The Winner will be contacted that they have won via email and/or direct message on social media within 48 hours of the completed Draw, or as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter, using the email address provided by the entrant during the registration of the Competition entry (“Notification”). Entrants shall not be contacted if they have not won. The Winner must, within 7 days of the Promoter first sending the Notification, confirm their acceptance by responding via email to the Promoter. If the Winner does not respond to the Promoter within the timeframe specified or they are unable to accept the Prize or any element of the Prize for any reason whatsoever, they shall forfeit their right to receive the Prize and the Promoter may carry out a further draw to select an alternative Winner. The alternative Winner will be the first entry drawn at random from all other valid entries submitted.
14. Winning claims are subject to a full verification process and the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Winner if the Promoter is aware or has reasonable grounds to believe that the Winner is not eligible or if the Promoter has grounds to believe that any Winner has breached any of the Terms. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Winner if there is suspicion of fraud or if the Promoter has any reason to believe that the Winner has acted improperly.
15. In the event of any Winner being disqualified for any reason whatsoever, the Promoter may select an alternative Winner by carrying out a further draw at random from all other valid entries submitted. In the event of an alternative Winner being selected for any reason whatsoever, the alternative Winner will be notified that they have won, in accordance with clause 13, within 7 days of the selection being made, or as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter.
16. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, extend or terminate the Competition and the Closing Date if it deems appropriate and without notice for reasons which are beyond its reasonable control. The Promoter also reserves the right to amend the Terms at any time.
17. Personal data provided by entrants will only be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”).
    (a) For the administration and management of the Competition;
    (b) in accordance with clauses 8 and 18 of the Terms;
    (c) the first name and home town/county of the Winner will be published on the Promoter’s website at coexistprojects.com and sharkresearchmexico.com and on their associated social media accounts within 48 hours of receipt of the Winner’s email providing proof of identity, or as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter;
    (d) in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
18. By entering the Competition, entrants agree to participate in any Competition publicity relating to the Competition at no cost to the Promoter. This may include the Winner’s name and home town/county, photographs of the Winner and details of their experience and activities during the prize being published in any publicity regarding the Competition.
19. By entering the Competition entrants consent to their personal data being used in the ways set out in clauses 17 and 18.
20. Subject to clause 23, if the Promoter fails to comply with the Terms, the Promoter shall only be liable to the entrant for any losses that she or he suffers as a result of the Promoter’s failure to comply (whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise) which are a foreseeable consequence of such failure.
21. Subject to clause 23, the Promoter will not be liable for losses that result from the Promoter’s failure to comply with the Terms that fall into the following categories:
    (a) loss of income or revenue;
    (b) loss of business;
    (c) loss of profits;
    (d) loss of anticipated savings;
    (e) loss of data; or
    (f) waste of management or office time.
22. Subject to clause 23, the Promoter accepts no liability in respect of any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by the Winner as a result of the acceptance or non-acceptance of the Prize.
23. Nothing in the Terms excludes or limits in any way the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or the Promoter’s liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
